Code of Conduct

Introduction

Welcome! This page serves to familiarize you with the rules that you must follow when participating in the activities of the Association Masiv. Personal safety and security of every individual present is a priority in our organization, where we mean the safety and security of those present:

  • at our on-site activities, or
  • in online communication performed through third-party platforms that Masiv uses to contact the participants of the activities it organizes.

For a better understanding of this Code of conduct, here are some definitions:

  • Activity” means any activity carried out by Masiv, which may take any form (including online), in accordance with our statutory objectives.
  • User” is any person who interacts with Masiv or its activities based on personal initiative and interest, with the aim of better understanding Masiv activities.
  • Member” is a user who voluntarily entered membership with Masiv.
  • Membership” is an assertion of member status in Masiv.
  • Membership fee” is the amount of money required to join the membership in Masiv.
  • Participant” is an individual who actively participates in the activities of Masiv who may or may not be a member. Participant status refers without limitation to visitors, speakers, sponsors, guests, exhibitors, promoters, builders, volunteers, media.
  • Event” is a subset of activities related to the realization of any events arising from or in connection with Masiv;
  • Campaign” is the period of promotion of Masiv’s activities.
  • Venue” means a physical space used for the purposes of the activities or in connection with them, which is accessed after checking the participant’s rights of access at the designated control point.
  • Online communications” represents a set of all communication channels operated by Masiv, which represent the official presence of Masiv or our activities in the digital space. As of the date of the last update of this Code of Conduct, the current online communication methods we use are:
    • Facebook
    • Instagram
    • YouTube
    • Mailchimp
    • Discord
    • Linktree

We advise you to familiarize yourself with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for an easier understanding of the scope of this Code of Conduct, or at least to be aware of the possibility that you can find more information relevant to you in these documents.

Masiv continues to produce events from the scope described in our statute, which identify as conferences, seminars, workshops and meetups. Future works of Masiv may go beyond the stated scope, and thus organize any activities, in accordance with the current statute. For example, Audio Forum is an activity of Masiv, type of event – annual conference in the field of audio production in Serbia.

These Rules of Conduct may be updated at any time, at our sole discretion, without prior notice.

Rules of conduct

  1. Your participation in the activities confirms your agreement with this Code of Conduct.
  2. You are fully responsible for knowing, understanding and respecting the Code of Conduct.
  3. This section (Rules of Conduct) is not exhaustive and Masiv reserves the right to determine what behavior is considered in violation of good faith and to take disciplinary measures, including issuing a warning to the participant, removing/dismissing the infringing accounts.
  4. A person who finds themselves on the spot without the right of access, Masiv reserves the right to consider that person as a participant (term defined in this Code of Conduct), or to decide otherwise about the rights of access of that person.
  5. Our activities are available to everyone who has properly qualified for it, either by having an adequate status as a Masiv member or by acquiring the right to activities (for example by purchasing tickets).
  6. The official language of Masiv and Masiv activities is Serbian. It is often necessary to execute activities or parts of activities in foreign languages due to the international nature of the topics covered by Masiv’s statute. However, this will not be interpreted as recognition of foreign languages as official or official languages of the activities of Masiva.
  7. Persons under 18 years of age at the time of Masiva activities have the right to participate in activities only when accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
  8. In order to maintain the integrity and atmosphere of a group open to dialogue, information shared within the activity will be treated with professional courtesy and will never be used or disclosed outside of the context or spirit of cooperation, unless otherwise indicated.
  9. You accept that you may be photographed, videographed and audiographed without limitation while participating in the activities.
  10. This Code of Conduct also governs all aspects of your interaction with online communications, including without limitation choosing a Discord server nickname and avatar, posting messages, interacting with other users and Masiv staff.

As with any conference or other professional event, attendees often combine professional activities with social interaction with other attendees, staff, and the others. While Masiv encourages such networking and strengthening of connections between participants, we reserve the right to remove or block any participant whose social behavior becomes objectionable to others (whether on-site or online) and who persists in such behavior after being notified that the nature of that behavior is objectionable. Massive also reserves the right to remove or block any participant who is drunk or appears to be drunk and behaves in a manner that interferes with the ability of other participants to participate and enjoy the activities.

Unacceptable behavior

  1. Participants who defame or disparage the activity, Masiv, other participants or the integrity of other persons or groups, harass or disrupt anyone, will be asked to stop any unacceptable behavior. We will take measures to remove such participants from the environment in case of non-compliance with this Code of Conduct.
  2. Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or degrading speech or actions by any participant on or in connection with the on-site or online activities and related activities; All participants deserve respect, regardless of the capacity in which they attend or participate. Discussion of opposing or differing viewpoints is appropriate, but is expected to be done in a respectful tone and in a manner that avoids personal attacks.
  3. Disturbing behavior such as:
    • using offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin, gender identity or disability,
    • inadequate use of nudity and/or sexual images in the venue,
    • intentional intimidation, virtual or in-person stalking or unwanted tracking,
    • menacingly taking photographs or recording videos,
    • shouting or threatening participants or speakers,
    • constant interruption of conversations or other similar circumstances,
    • unwanted physical or verbal contact or unwanted sexual attention,
    • verbal or physical abuse, intimidation, threats, attempts to annoy others, harassment or stalking, which in any way creates any kind of disturbance, especially which is dangerous or instills anxiety.
  4. Disrupting the activity or unauthorized sharing of content involving any participant during the activity (such as unauthorized posting of content on social media) without the consent of the content creator. Sharing content for the purpose of reporting violations of this Code of Conduct, laws or similar applicable rules is not prohibited by this Code of Conduct.
  5. You may not transmit or post any content or use language that is, without limitation, unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, bigoted, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable or any any other content that we, in our sole discretion, deem offensive.
  6. You may not intentionally use alternative spellings to circumvent or attempt to circumvent content and language restrictions.
  7. You may not make publicly available any personal information of another participant in the activity and/or any related services without the express written consent of that participant. Participants have the right to disclose their personal information at their own discretion.
  8. You may not violate the contractual, personal, intellectual property or other rights of any party, nor promote or represent illegal activity.
  9. You may not abuse the courtesy of a Masiv representative including, without limitation, submitting false reports of abuse or misconduct by any party, disabling, interfering with or circumventing any security measure within the activity or anything related to the activity or vice versa, which restricts or imposes restrictions on the use or access of the activity.
  10. You may not engage in actions that, in our opinion, are intended to impersonate Masiv, its representatives and/or represent any Masiv-related activities.
  11. You may not send false inquiries through our online channels (e-mail, social networks, etc.) demanding anything from Masiv. This is especially true for cases of hijacked and misleading e-mail addresses, addresses with perfidiously hidden spelling discrepancies, and for the sake of impersonation.

Consequences of unacceptable behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated during activities on site or online. We expect that all participants in the activity adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Masiv, at its discretion, may temporarily or permanently ban access to anyone who violates this Code of Conduct. Masiv may, in appropriate circumstances, prohibit violators from participating or attending future Masiv activities and may also notify the violator’s employer, the government or competent authorities about the violation.

Masiv will also report the outcome of any investigation into individuals who have reported violations of this Code of Conduct. Anyone who is asked to stop engaging in unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

Participants in Masiv activities must also cooperate with any Masiv investigation of reports of violations of this Code of Conduct by providing information that may be relevant to the investigation.

What to do if you witness or experience illegal behavior?
