In many ways, it makes much sense to host both summer and winter event editions. It reinforces the possibility of having speakers on-site, it’s easier to adjust to important schedules and it’s less likely that he audience will forget about your event.

The famous Berklee’s visit to Belgrade in 2009. generated quite an uproar in the music scene. So, a few years later, in the first half of 2015, we spoke with Gojko Damjanić, Berklee’s Assistant Director for admission of new students. With that, the excitement around the Audio Forum season began to grow and culminated, traditionally, at the end of that year.

For the first time in the history of Audio Forum, an international music scene superstar was present in the speaker line-up. That was Dave Pensado, music producer and Grammy Award winner for Beyoncé’s “I Am… Sasha Fierce” (2010) in the Album Of The Year category.

Audio Forum 2015. spun the tradition of hosting the greats from outside the former Yugoslavia, especially those with the highest acclaim in our industry. The admission to the event was free and open to the public.

Gojko Damjanić

Campus Coordinator, Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA

The Assistant Director for admission of new students at the Berklee College of Music, Gojko Damjanić, graduated from Berklee with a degree in composition and conducting. He is responsible for the Berklee auditions in Belgrade, which admit certain number of talent into this prestigious music college.

As Damjanić knows the the American music industry inside out, he was an ideal interlocutor for those who would like give it a go out in the international music scene. As a long-term Berklee representative (in cooperation with various universities worldwide) and a full-time lecturer, Gojko presented a clear cross-section of the educational system of renowned music universities across the United States and Europe.

At the time of his guest appearance at Audio Forum 2015, he has was also a consultant in the field of education in the US.

Ljubinko Gordić

Sound Designer and Author, RTS (Belgrade)

Ljubinko completed his Bachelor studies in Sound Recording and Design at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in 2007. He spent most of his career working as a sound designer at RTS (Radio-television of Serbia), mastering the fine art of television sound recording for live events. These are, to the greatest extent, recordings and broadcasts of sports, musical and overall live events.

Together with his colleague Zdravko Maljković, he lead the workshop “Stereophonic music recording”at Audio Forum 2016. On that occasion, Ljubinko and Zdravko also presented the book they co-authored, entitled “Stereophony – theory and practice”. On one hand, the book is a comprehensive guidebook for the audience and a manual on the other – about professional challenges that await the readers, with the aim of bringing this job closer to new generations.

Since 2017, Ljubinko has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade, teaching the following subjects: Stereophonics and sound image creation, Sound Design – Media, Art music post-production.

During Audio Forum 2015, Ljubinko held music recording workshops for a group of event visitors as part of the “Chopin Fest”, namely:

  • October 16th – Aspiring talent concert – first prize winners at the Belgrade Chopin Fest between 2012 and 2015
  • October 17th – Piano marathon “In honor of Chopin”
  • October 18th – The non-competition part of Chopin Fest

Dave Pensado

Grammy Award Winner | Music Producer and Podcaster

Dave Pensado is the winner of the prestigious music award Grammy in 2008 for mixing the album „Growing Pains“ by Mary J Blige, awarded by The Recording Academy, for outstanding contributions in music and discography.

He began his career in Atlanta during the ’70s and ’80s, working as a live and studio sound engineer. In 2011, together with Herb Trawick, he launched a weekly internet video series called „Pensado’s Place“Subsequently, he set up a website that became a true educational portal into the world of the music, for everyone interested in the subject matter.

Therefore, it is no coincidence that over a hundred and twenty schools around the world use Pensado’s Place as an educational resource!

Pensado has collaborated with the world’s biggest names in pop music. To name only a few: Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, AfroJack, Beyoncé, Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Jill Scott, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Destiny’s Child, Pussycat Dolls, Pink.

At Audio Forum 2015, Dave gave a lecture about music mixing.

Bobby Owsinski

Music Producer, Blogger and Author

Bobby is a veteran of the music industry, with experience stretching between almost all its segments. He was among the first to dive into the world of surround sound in the post-production of music concerts. He participated in over 100 DVD releases of concerts by mixing sound in the 5.1 format for artists such as: The Who, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Iron Maiden, The Ramones, Chicago and others.

Bobby is also a best-selling book author in the music industry, publishing over 23 books, most notably the “Mixing Engineer’s Handbook”, “The Recording Engineer’s Handbook”, and “Music 4.1: A Survival Guide for Making Music in the Internet Age”. „Mixing Engineer’s Handbook“, „The Recording Engineer’s Handbook“, and „Music 4.1: A Survival Guide for Making Music in the Internet Age“.

He is a regular correspondent for the biggest magazines in sound and audio, writing articles for: Surround Professional, EQ, Billboard, Film&Video, Hollywood Reporter, Mix, Grammy Magazine, Electronic Musician.

His blog „Bobby’s Big Picture Music Production Blog“ is one with the largest traffic in the industry, with over 5 million visits.

At Audio Forum 2015, Bobby gave a lecture on “New Trends in the Music Industry”.

Vojislav Voja Aralica

Music Producer

It is said that Voja is one of the busiest music producers in Serbia. Out of nearly a hundred albums under the belt, several were best-sellers in the ex-Yugoslavia. In addition to the best studios in this area, Voja has been building his career in some of the world’s best studios: Real World Studios, Abbey Road, Studio de la Grande Armée, Metalworks Studios, NRG, Metropolis, Strongroom.

Voja is a self-taught musician without formal education, who started his professional career at the age of 16. As a respected producer, arranger, composer and performer, he contributed to the creation of a large number of film music tracks, musicals and TV commercials.

He produced film music for the world-renowned director Emir Kusturica and collaborated with key authors and groups in ex-Yugoslavia: Bajaga i Instruktori, Zdravko Čolić, Van Gogh, Električni orgazam, Bilja Krstić i Bistrik, Frajle, Dejan Cukić. Voja is a permanent member of the the band Kolja i Grobovlasnici.

The Audio Forum team gives a special shoutout to Voja for the selfless support he has been showing ever since Audio Forum came into existence. Voja is also an honorary member of the Audio Forum team.

At Audio Forum 2015, Voja held a workshop on “Various approaches in a music album production”.
